Frank Peretti Veritas Project pound Curse (the hangman and the nightmare of the Academy) are great books, which are difficult to soothe. His book "The oath is also very good and with a good message is not written specifically for young people. He also wrote The Cooper Kids series of adventures of two brothers who travel the world with his father, archaeologists, and many things strange and multi-hazard and seeing the hand of God protect all times. He writes a supernatural thriller dealing with spiritual warfare - not specifically for young people - they are very good - and this darkness through the darkness.
Roman Jerry B. Jenkins Hometown Legend is a very good story and inspiration. There was also a recent movie.
Although not specifically for young people several authors have written short stories as well Lawanna Blackwell (Gresham Chronicles), Francine Rivers (The Last Sin Eater), Gilbert Morris (House of Winslow series) and Jane Peart (Bride Series Montclair).
